In 2018 I had the privilege of traveling to India with my daughter. What an amazing adventure we had. I, being a textile artist, fell in love with the colorful saris and clothing the women wore. I bought many beautiful yards of silk to incorporate into my hand made felted garments. The heat of India dictates the loose style of clothing. One particular style I have adapted, in India the call it a Kurta, we call it a tunic. This tunic is a combination of opaque marigold and red silk on bodice with the bottom half of the tunic created from sheer hand dyed silk chiffon, embellished with wool motifs, enlarged from the patterns in the silk on the bodice. Slits on the side allow for easy movement.
